Sample Preparation Kits

Introduction to Sample Preparation Kits

Sample Preparation kits are an easy way to select and implement a clean up method in your laboratory. Often these kits formats combine multiple clean-up methods, buffers, and a step-by-step implementation method to help start the method. One of the two step kits that Phenomenex supplies is a QuEChERS kit, which typically includes pre-measured packets of salts and solvents to facilitate the extraction and partitioning of analytes from food matrices, followed by a cleanup step to remove unwanted co-extractives. This method is widely used because it simplifies the sample preparation process, making it more efficient and accessible. Offering in a single kit format makes it easier for customers to select what they need based on the method they are trying to run and saves time, additional shipments and part number ordering.

roQ QuEChERS Kits

roQ QuEChERS makes it easy to extract multiresidue pesticides from food and environmental samples. It removes unwanted interferences such as organic acids, lipids, pigments, sugars, and more. This kit format has precisely measured and easy-to-pour salt packets for the extraction step in this protocol. The sample is then cleaned up further by dispersive SPE (dSPE). Kits are selected based on the matrix clean-up needs and whether laboratories are extracting following AOAC 2007.01 or EN 15662 guidelines.

Clarity OTX

Clarity OTX is another clean-up method for oligonucleotides that can be purchased as a kit, but it is also offered as individual components for ease-of-use. This kit provides mixed-mode solid phase extraction (SPE) sorbent in multiple tube and 96-well plate formats in conjunction with carefully formulated buffers to provide high recoveries and accurate results for LC-MS. Clarity OTX kits allow the flexibility to select a kit format that works for diverse sample sizes and reliable buffers to reduce costly errors that can often occur.
